"We Are Not Alone"

This glowing smile came over his face and his lips began to vibrate. Sara grasped her daughter’s hands in hers ever so tightly and they bent down over to listen. John, Michael and the technician stood by the patient’s feet, wanting to get closer, but unwilling to crowd the gems of Jack’s life.

Jack smiled and then he spoke and time seemed to stand still.

“How are my beautiful—charming girls doing?” He whispered, “and it seems as though I haven’t seen you both in ages--

Jack Redman’s smile began to ever so slowly disappear.

And then he tried to lift his head slightly and the fingers on his left hand began to straighten ever so gradually, until he raised his arm and appeared to signal them to get closer. He tried to smile again as his facial muscles and lips twitched—upward and he said . . .
“Sara you are and always will be the love of my life and you my lovely daughter are the sparkling jewel that has made us both very proud. I love you both dearly forever,” he said in a whisper that seemed to arise out of his very last breath.

And then he died.
