The speaker was interrupted for several seconds with applause and a couple of “howls”. “I will tell you, that I received a great education here, so work hard people. You will get out of this only what you put in!” The students in the auditorium and the speaker’s peers arose to their feet, and amply provided polite applause.

“I’d like to speak about the most recent achievements we have made in the field of neurology and our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease!”

Michael Price had arrived hours earlier. His patience already was being severely tested by the pompous formalities that characterized all of the boring speeches given by honorees, the handshaking and award ceremonies, all of which preceded his father’s lecture. Michael would have to wait until his beloved father, Dr. John Price—guest speaker, was done updating the medical students, before he could make his pop aware that he would have to clear his schedule, so that they could travel together—to Maui, immediately!
